I absolutely hate winter (I can’t stand being cold, not to mention the sight of those dark; gloomy days), so I’ve decided to do the logical thing and just skip the season altogether. I know what you’re thinking, “you can do that?!?” well I’m not sure but I am definitely going to try.
No hot chocolate for me, instead I’ll be having a yummy; ice-cold chocolate milkshake instead. Hot soup for lunch? Oh please (I’ve never quite understood the concept of drinking food anyway), nope a crunchy fresh salad it is! Up until 2 seconds ago I was feeling pretty confident about my plan to completely ignore an entire season – until I opened my favourite mag and saw all the deliciously dark makeup looks for Winter. Something about a dark berry lip just makes me feel all cosy inside.
Ok so maybe I’ll give winter a try (on my lips and nails that is), but in my heart, it will always be Summer…

The Bible is full of instructions, encouragement and promises from God. It is up to us to take what we need from The Word and incorporate it into our daily lives.
So many times when things aren’t going well for us, we tend to ask “why is this happening to me? Where is God?” When in fact, if we just spend more time researching and finding out what The Word says, we would know that God has already given us simple instructions to live the lives we so desperately want. These instructions are not difficult at all and we each have the capacity to fulfil them. However, we cannot execute the instructions if we don’t read the manual. That’s what The Bible is, its our manual for life, given to us by The Creator Himself to teach us how to live our best lives. So I thought it would be a good idea to do a weekly post on God’s promises to teach you (and remind myself) of The Father’s love, grace and mercy for us.
Our days would be so much more productive and blessed if we would just stop spending them talking about other people. God says that He will satisfy our needs in a sun-scorched land – I think this means that He will prosper us, bless us and keep us safe regardless of the circumstances that surround us. For us to claim and live in that promise, we need to pray for people instead of gossiping about them; help others instead of turning a blind eye and stop condemning them. If we follow this instruction from God, we would have more time in our day and space in our heart to receive His love and grace.
So the next time you’re tempted to join in with the office gossip or turn away someone in need, remember that you have been saved by grace – that unmerited, undeserved favour from God – and that all you need to do to follow this instruction is to show and extend that grace to others.
So many times the way we see ourselves is completely different from the way others see us. We tend to be way too critical on ourselves, and as a result, we end up holding ourselves back. There are so many people just waiting to say something negative about you, the least you can do is say positive things about yourself. Just this past weekend I did makeup for 3 of my beautiful family members, they loved the effect of the makeup, but they still didn’t consider themselves beautiful (even though they looked stunning to everyone else). As women, we tend to brush off compliments or downplay achievements because we don’t want others to think that we’re prideful, the problem is, we do this at the expense of our own confidence. As a Christian woman, I have learned to accept compliments, because I am God’s creation and if someone else sees beauty in me – it means that they see the beauty in God’s work. My confidence comes from who I am in Christ and knowing that He loves me flaws and all. So next time you feel like wearing that bold red dress, go ahead and do it. It doesn’t matter what other people think about you, what matters is what God knows about you and He still loves you, so go ahead and love yourself. xoxo
I saw this quote on Pinterest (incidentally, it’s by one of my favourite preachers of all time, Steven Furtick – google him; it will change your life).
I started thinking about every single time God did something awesome in my life and I realised just how true those words are. If I had given up I would never have known the power of His grace and His love for me. So many times we misinterpret what God is trying to tell us, we think to ourselves “if it’s this hard, maybe it isn’t meant for me,”. That’s not true – not at all. Consider James 1: 12: Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
It might not be easy but the reward is greater than anything we could ever imagine. So next time you feel like giving up on something in your life (a situation, opportunity, relationship or even person), remember that it’s always darkest right before the dawn. xoxo
It’s been a while since I’ve done a “Bargain Buys” post, but after picking up these two beauties, I just couldn’t resist. Now I know that soft, pastel shades are usually reserved for Spring – but I am going through a “Winter – Whites” phase (don’t judge me!)

I saw this image PINTEREST and it immediately jumped out at me.
Often times in life we copy and imitate what we see others do without thinking about if it’s really what we want to be or even should be doing. Have you ever stopped and asked yourself how the people you look up to became who they are? It definitely wasn’t by being an echo of someone else’s thoughts, ideas and dreams.
The happiest people are those who are not afraid to take risks, look stupid and even fail – as long as they stay true to themselves.
It’s all up to you. Are you a voice or an echo?
I’ve always been a “high-heel” kinda girl, untill about a year or so ago, when my husband bought me the prettiest pair of blush; floral Nike Airmax. Don’t get me wrong, heels are still my preference, but I’ve slowly been adding to my budding sneaker collection and finding that I just can’t seem to resist a pretty pair of kicks.
So I’ve compiled a top 5 list of the one’s I’ll be looking to purchase this winter. Mind you, I am by no means a sneaker expert and I know there are those out there whose sneaker game is super strong; but honestly, I just like them because they’re cute. I have absolutely no interest in what “make” they are, or which version, or how expensive or not they are ( Don’t judge me sneakerheads!)
So here they are:

So it’s almost winter again. Usually I’m a summer kind of girl, but this year I just can’t wait for winter. I’m not sure if it’s because I miss the rain or because of all the gorgeous winter jackets out there. These are my top 5:
- A fitted Parka
- A satin Bomber jacket
- A padded jacket
- A super comfy Track top
- A Wrap coat / blazer
With the intense heat we’ve been experiencing in CT lately, many of us have been dreaming of just cutting off all our hair and being free from the hairdryer! But like myself I bet many of you just don’t have the guts, unlike my brave baby sister who took the plunge and went for the crop. And it paid off – she looks super cute and the cut really complements her.

So Christmas might be over but summer is really just beginning. Happy summer
